North Bay, our largest community, can accommodate larger conferences and events. This bustling city of about 60,000 residents is situated on Highway 11 and about a three-hour drive from Toronto or Ottawa. In the summer, over 2,000 rooms are available, due to the two-dozen hotels located across the city and the availability of Nipissing University and Canadore College. The Capitol Centre can accommodate more than 1,000 people in its theatre. The waterfront, with its three-kilometre walkway, provides a perfect opportunity for a pleasant morning and evening stroll.
Individuals who wish to get away from the city and experience nature will be delighted by the variety of nearby options. The Elk Lake Eco Centre is a wilderness retreat facility that offers a relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy the area's natural beauty and superb services and activities.
Enjoy the serenity of Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park with a visit to the Canadian Ecology Centre in Mattawa. This environmental science centre offers educational packages and outreach activities, and can accommodate groups of up to 180 people for weddings and other large gatherings.
The Presidents' Suites in Haileybury focuses on the area's rich history and culture. They host visitors in luxurious historical homes. The suites also provide guests with unique opportunities for team-building activities, historical evenings/dinners, and retreats for small and large groups.
On the Québec side of Lake Temiskaming, two main centres are available for meetings, weddings, and conventions. Domaine Témikami is a mini-convention centre. With restaurants, a spacious gym, a spa and sauna, and an outstanding view of Lake Temiskaming, the centre can host groups from ten to sixty people. La Bannik is another picturesque and enchanting setting located on the shores of Lake Temiskaming. With a charming restaurant, thirteen individual cottages and more than a hundred camping sites, it provides a perfect getaway.
