Explore Lac des Quinze and Lac Simard
Lac des Quinze (145 km2) and Lac Simard (150 km2) are two imposing interconnected bodies of water that are expansions of the Ottawa River. In 1909, the construction of a hydroelectric dam raised the water levels in these lakes. Thus, they became an important reservoir for timber driving and acted as such for almost 65 years. Today, there are many outfitters and campgrounds on the shores of these lakes.
Boat-launching Ramps and Marinas
To access the eastern portion of the Lac de Quinze, many boat-launching ramps are accessible.
- Domaine de la Baie Gillies in Fugèreville
- Gillies Outfitters in Latulipe-et-Gaboury (44-space marina)
- Latulipe-et-Gaboury public wharf
- Moffet public wharf
In Laforce, a boat-launching ramp provides access to Lac Simard.
